Just done first survey and I’m excited to try a wool duvet! I’m so interested to see how it works because to me wool is thick and warm so can’t work out how it will regulate my temperature so looking forward to giving it a go!
My duvet arrived today!
Very excited to try it, and excellent timing (serendipity) as tomorrow is washday for me so I can put a fresh cover on and use it on my bed with it for the first time then.
It comes in two pieces, Spring/Autumn and Summer, and you use them together for Winter (same as my current feather ones) BUT they have fabric ties to join them, which is really good news as in my experience buttons come off and get lost, or the button holes just aren't tight enough, and the two parts separate inside the cover and slide about, adding to discomfort when trying to sleep.
@queenbee1973 I got mine last Saturday
My email said "You will receive your 100% New Zealand Mitchell Wool Duvet by the end of next week (8th March)." so Fingers crossed you get it soon.
I've received my duvet and excited to try... This may sound like a stupid question but are we supposed to just try it as it is without a duvet cover?
I’m really impressed with this duvet. It’s incredibly comfortable and makes sleeping much more pleasant.
I'm finding the duvet very comfortable to sleep under - a little denser and heavier than my usual one, but equally flexible. In terms of weight I find it halfway between a feather or synthetic duvet and a light weighted blanket. It feels secure but so far I haven't woken up feeling too hot or too cold in the morning, and I haven't been woken in the middle of the night either. It's hard to say if this is all down to the duvet as I can go for several weeks without that kind of disturbance anyway, but so far so good.
I have found the duvet to be a comfortable weight .However , am I the only one to find it a little noisy? It makes a slight ruffling sound every time I move. My partner noticed it first but once he pointed it out , it became more obvious to me. I’m guessing it’s because of the good quality natural materials used to make it . Our usual duvet is synthetic.
The jury is still out with regards it helping regulate my temperature. Some nights I have been fine but others it has made no difference and I have had to push the covers off completely to try and control the furnace inside.
A partial win and I will take it.
It is a bit rustly, a bit like a hotel duvet, but actually after a couple of nights we got used to it. It is helping massively with regulating my temperature and because it's quite heavy, it feels lovely to sleep under - like a slightly weighted blanket. Love it! Xx
@nicnoc75 very interesting! So glad to hear it is helping with temperature regulation.😍👏
Out of curiosity, is the rustling sound still there after a few uses? Did/ do you find the rustling sound effects your sleep quality at all?
