Hi. I am a 28F and for the last year or two, my hormones have been through the roof. before I had great skin, now I break out all over my chest, back and face (especially my jawline). The week before my period is giving PMDD awful. It basically feels like my whole body has suddenly betrayed me.

I want to gauge how normal this was for others in their late 20s/early 30s, and if so, what you did to mitigate it and how long it seemed to be this intense.

Anything helps!

The acne could be from gut infections, hormonal imbalances and nutritional deficiencies.

Sounds like hormonal imbalance. it's quite normal in the sense that 80% of women have this BUT it's obviously not normal in the sense where you probably do want to get your hormones in balance.

I went through/ going through the same thing with breakouts/ hormonal acne/ cystic acne. I have personally never had my hormones tested but 2 things that have really helped me are:

  • Microfibre facecloth - i stopped using any face wash (it's tough but worth it). I just use a microfibre facecloth with warm water to wash my face, remove my makeup etc. (wash after every use)
  • Purifide Daily Moisturiser SPF 30 - It's been really good at helping get rid of and keeping away my breakouts both on my face and my back.

Hope this helps!
