I had Tetralysal (lynecycline) for 4 weeks as prescribed by my dermatologist to cure acne, but then My menstral cycle stopped. It has been almost 4 months. He claimed that this medication has nothing to do with hormones. What should I do?

Getting the most from your treatment Your course of treatment could last a week or so for an acute infection, or for at least eight weeks if you are taking it for acne. It is important that you keep taking the capsules regularly until the course is finished (unless you are told to stop sooner by a doctor). Other options for acne that does not respond to antibiotics are: Isotretinoin, an oral form of vitamin A, has a high success rate even against severe acne. Oral contraceptives and/or spironolactone are options for women with adult female acne. Oral corticosteroids can sometimes be helpful.
