Hey everyone! I just wanted to quickly introduce myself in case I can support you in any way. I’m Em, a breathwork facilitator and marketing strategist, helping busy women and founders find balance, clarity, and energy through breathwork and The House of Hormones' resident breathwork teacher.

I know firsthand how overwhelming stress and burnout can be, which is why I’m so passionate about sharing simple yet powerful breathwork techniques that fit into your daily life. Whether you’re looking for ways to reset your nervous system, boost focus, or unwind after a long day, I’m here to help. Soon, you'll be able to find out more about me on the Expert Advice page under "Educate" on the House of Hormones website as well.

Here you'll be able to learn more about my work on my website, and I also offer free mini consultations (15 mins), 1:1 sessions and group sessions. Feel free to drop me an email at emilylrking@gmail.com—I’d love to connect!

Can’t wait to get to know more of you!

Em x

Hi, how does breathwork help with hormones? Sorry if that’s a stupid question. X

@sl22 Absolutely not a stupid question! The biggest hormone breathwork can support is cortisol (stress hormone), which regulates your nervous system. Practicing intentional breathing regularly can help with hormone imbalances by reducing stress and promoting a consistent sense of relaxation in your body - even in moments of pain (PMS, cramps, endo flare-ups, etc).

Breathwork techniques like yogic pranayama breathing exercises and diaphragmatic breathing can help with hormonal regulation in this way, stimulating what is known as your vagus nerve to take you from a 'fight or flight' response into a 'rest and digest' response, or from sympathetic to parasympathetic (to get more scientific!). By lowering your cortisol levels through breathwork, you're able to regulate your emotions, improve your mood, and improve your immune function by reducing inflammation in the body. Not to mention the respiratory health and mental health benefits that come alongside this.
